Evelyn Evelyn

Today is the official release date for Evelyn Evelyn.  It's so exciting to see a project I've been following for so long finally come to life.

I love music that breaks my heart, gets me on my feet, pushes me to sing along, and inspires me to create.  This album is all of that.  And then some.

But, what I love even more about this is the story itself.  Throughout the album, we are introduced to the story of the Neville sisters (spoken word segments between the songs)--the alternately horrific and hopeful story of the conjoined twin sisters.  On first listen, I found myself pausing to breathe and to digest the story.  Details about their life that initially shocked me are, I realize, essential to understanding these girls.  Painful to even imagine such an upbringing.

I don't want to give anything away.  I want you to experience this yourself.

If you'd like to learn about the Neville sisters, check out evelynevelyn.bandcamp.com .   From here, you can listen to the album in its entirety.  If you enjoy the music, I encourage you to buy it (and, for the old folks like me who still enjoy physical copies--there is a link to their webstore with several beautiful packages).

Enjoy!
