I tend to write in the first person. I love putting myself into the mindset of these "characters." For whatever reason, it seems easier to see through their eyes versus writing about them.
I use my scars
as an excuse
for my bad behavior.
Try to tell myself
that he never
loved me anyway.
That I'd treat you
better than she did.
So easy to justify
our desires.
To tell ourselves lies
in order to live.
And to love.
